Agave syrup

Agave nectar, also called agave nectar or mead is a natural sweetener that comes from extracting the sap of cactus, agaves, growing on volcanic soils in southern Mexico. Agave syrup is a natural sweetener.

Definition of agave syrup

Theagave is a plant that grows primarily in Mexico, but is now found in all the hot, dry regions, and in the Mediterranean countries. The plant was known until recently as the main component of tequila.

Agaves are large plants that also resemble yuccas and family Aloe-Vera. Sometimes found agave in the south of France, but are very common in Mexico.

There are over 100 varieties of agave , but the most used is the Blue Agave, the agavecar of piña, because it is that which contains more fructose.

Development of agave syrup

Agave syrup is a sweetener commercially produced in Mexico from several species of agave Agave which tequilana, also called blue agave or agave tequila.

Agave syrup is sweeter and less viscous than honey.

Agave syrup is produced in the Mexican states of Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato and Tamaulipas, according to Mexican laws certificate origin, although most occurred in the State of Jalisco.
